Accokeek Foundation’s 4th Annual “Lattes with Lambs” Festival Showcases Rare Animals to Community

The Accokeek Foundation recently held their 4th Annual Lattes with Lambs Festival!! A press release following the event discusses the foundations introduction of its newest additions to the Heritage Breed Conservation Program, as well as, “hands-on demonstrations, and animal meet-and-greets.”

“Activities throughout the day included a cow-milking station, sheep shearing demonstrations, a “sheep to scarf” activity highlighting the wool-to-yarn process, a shake-your-own butter station, a kids play area, and up close animal encounters with the cattle, sheep, and rabbits. The 14 new lambs and three calves made quite an impression at their debut, but the real star of the event was Nigel Nicely, the Hog Island sheep flock’s bellwether. “
